Babar Azam and Alyssa Healy Won the ICC Player of The Month Award
Pakistani Test skipper Babar Azam and Australian Women’s wicket-keeper batsman Alyssa Healy won the ICC player of the month of April award today, 10th April. ICC announced the most voted player names of the Men and Women category on social media handle. Babar and Alyssa were the architects behind their team’s stupendous performances.

In the Men category, the other contenders for the ICC Player of the month of April were his fellow teammate Fakhar Zaman and Nepal’s top-order batsman Kushal Bhurtal. Babar played like a champion in the 3 ODIs against South Africa last month. He amassed 228 runs in 3 matches with an admirable average of 76. Babar hit a tremendous century, 103 off 104 balls in the opener match of the series while chasing 274 runs. He even bagged the Man of the match for his team’s victory over Proteas in the match. Babar added 94 off 82 balls in the series decider and became Man of the Match for the 2nd time.
Apart from ODIs he scored 305 runs in 7 T20 matches at an average of 43.75. In the 3rd T20 match, Azam hit a fabulous hundred, 122 off 59 balls in the 3rd T20 against South Africa, which assisted Pakistan to go past the target of 204 runs. The 26 years old from Lahore has transferred his hot form into T20s also. Babar’s 122 against Proteas is also the highest score by a Pakistani batsman in the T20s, surpassing Ahmed Shehzad’s 111* against Bangladesh in the 2014 T20 World Cup.

Babar is now a new all-format player at the peak of his career. He has been giving tough competitions to other all-format players like Kane Williamson, Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Joe Root. if Babar continues to drive himself like this, he would be at the top across all formats.

Australian wicket-keeper batsman Alyssa Healy has beaten her country women Megan Schutt, and New Zealand’s Leigh Kasperek to win the ICC Player of the month of April award. Australian Women’s team played 3 ODIs against New Zealand in April. Healy wreaked havoc against Kiwis by notching up 155 runs in 3 matches at a captivating average of 51.66. She made 65,44, and 46 in 3 ODIs respectively. Alyssa became the Man of the Match for making 46 in the 3rd ODI at Bay Oval. During the series, Healy became the 3rd player to play 200 international matches for Australia after Ellyse Perry and Alex Blackwell.
Australian women’s team has made the record of the most consecutive ODI wins (24) in ODI cricket history.
